Well I would like to introduce myself to everyone. I'm Catriona as most of you will know. Im the Group Leader of the Cork Support Group for WeightLoss Surgery. I am 9 months post op from Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass done in the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork. To date I have lost 44kg/7stone. It is the best decision I have ever made. I would do it all over again (but I hope not to)

If any of you have any questions please ask, I'm here every day.

I had my consult with Colm on Friday just gone and providing Aviva sign off I'll be having surgery by the end of April! EEEK! Very excited. As I live in Dublin I wont be able to make the support group meetings but it would be great if you guys could post any tips etc on this site for me / other Dublin patients!
Congratulations on your weight loss! Its a fantastic achievement! I've soo many questions about post op lifestyle changes etc it would be great if you could help!

Eddie, insurers will cover either part of or all of the surgery providing you meet their requirements. (BMI in excess of 45 etc). You should have a consultation and see if its the procedure for you! If you have any questions about making the decision etc give me a shout and I will pass you my contact details.

Hi All, My name is Mick and have seen Mr O Boyle a few weeks ago. Am hoping to have a gastric Bypass some time in May. Will be attending the support Group meeting on Tuesday next to try calm my nerves/fears about the procedure.

have read and read about the procedure but having met Catriona, she is the greatest ad for the procedure. Hope she did not take offence when I called her a slip of a girl.
